Rich neutrals and modern texture creates an exquisite combination in this contemporary bath designed by Collins Tile and Stone. The project took the NTCA Five-Star Grand Prize for Residential Tile Installation at Coverings 2015.
Based on a custom design, a large steam shower was housed within a beautiful glass enclosure juxtaposed against a Japanese soaking air tub. This project required careful design and execution due to the innate challenges of constructing a steam shower.
The tiles chosen for the remodel were distributed by Architectural Ceramics and comprised of 12 x 24-inch glazed, porcelain tile from the Flashback Series by Eleganza, which was used on the bathroom floor and soaking tub facing; the Flash Back .5 x .5-inch mosaic tile installed on the shower floor; and 12 x 24-inch and 3 x 24-inch (cut on-site from 12 x 24-inch field tile) porcelain tile from the On Square Series by Emil Ceramica, used on the shower walls, shower bench face and soaking tub walls. The decorative mural inset is Tozen Tresse Natural, a luminous handmade, fused glass mosaic by Lunada Bay Tile. The mural border repeats the glazed, porcelain tile from the Flashback Series and was also cut on-site from 12 x 24-inch tile to 3 x 24-inch pieces.
